Hello everyone,

I hope that someone could help me, I'm trying to identify what year this cymbal is produced, if anyone could say even roughly that would be great.

The 17" K Dark Thin Crash model was introduced in 1993. Before 1993 the designation was just Dark Crash (no Thin or Medium Thin). In 1994 the laser serial numbers were introduced. Since that one does not have a laser serial number it should be a 1993 cymbal.

Thank you so much for response and clarification. I thought that it was few years old but not that much. But all things to a side it's a great piece, sounds amazing.

Just to add a little more geekiness to this:

Prior to 1993 (when they were just "Dark Crash"), they were available in 4 sizes: 15", 16", 17" and 18". I was told by a Zildjian rep from back in that time period that the 16" & 18" were always made medium thin and that the 15" and 17" were always made thin, even though they carried no weight designations. I believe they went to the weight designation when they added 14" and 19" Dark Crashes to the series.
