Yet Another Zildjian Dating Thread!

Loading...

Hi, my name is Avedis. I'm about 50 years old and enjoy long rides on my 18-inch...

Oops. Wrong forum.

Newbie here with another ID thread! I need help dating these cymbals. I've had them for years and years and years, and I love them dearly, but right now I have to choose between them and rent, soooo... I want to make sure I've identified them correctly before I throw them up on eBay and unintentionally rip someone off!

The first is a Zildjian A 18" medium crash. I think this is a late 50's stamp. Thoughts?

And for context:

I could kill whoever ganked the back like that, but oh well. Still sounds great.

And then I have three Zildjian A 14" hi-hats, two tops and one bottom. I actually have no idea on these babies. Possibly 70s? 60s? I don't know. I'm thinking 60s, but I can't find a whole lot of thin 70's stamps for comparison. The bottom has "BOTTOM HI-HAT NEW BEAT" stamped on it, but no ink anywhere else.

I'll only post one of the stamps because they're identical:

It was really hard to get a good picture of these stamps. They're very thin and shallow. All three of them have the three dots, though, and they're bigger than the suspected 50's stamp. Believe it or not, I have neither a tape measurer nor a ruler at my disposal, so I can't give an exact measurement. I can try to wrestle better pictures out of my awful camera if I need to.

The bottom hi-hat:

Thanks!
