At today's exchange rate (92 yen to 1 dollar) that's about $1521. In general, if you consider a yen a penny, that will give you a rough estimate.
The rate's been as high as 126 yen = 1 dollar and as low as 86 yen = 1 dollar over the past few years. The rate is currently very low which makes is very expensive for you to buy things from Japan while it makes it very cheap for me to buy things from America.
