Yamaha Vintage Drum - Identification

Hi guys,

i could need your help.

I recently found that drum and immediately bought it (for a few bucks).

However i can't identify the series it belongs to.

Therefore, I am asking for your help ;-)

It looks quite similar to an D-20, however it only has 6 lugs.

Furthermore i think the shell is made of mahagony with birch rings on both ends?

There is a "number" inside each shell, all of those starting with "S0B6" or "SOB6" following another 3 numbers

If you need any more information, just ask.

Tht is a beautiful C20 or C22 depending on the kick size. Probably late 60’s or early 70’s, when I look at the floortom legs and bd mount.

It's a 20' bassdrum, therefore it should be the C-200/C-20

I don't know the difference ;)

A custom drum company is going to regrind the bearing edges. They actually were quite surprised that the set is in a very good condition.

I am still unsure if i will use it on my own or sell it.

Does anyone can give me some hints how much it is worth?

If you are going to sell the set, I wouldn`t recut the edges...Leave that for the new owner to decide if they want it done...

Just my opinion...

+1Why on earth would you recut the bearing edges!?! Leave 'em be.

Well, not all original edges are in great shape. I would think that's an obvious point why someone would have them done. You can have great looking, rare vintage kit, but if the edges are crap, what's it really worth...I mean, the sound does matter.

I've had the edges re-cut on a number of my vintage kits, much better. I don't prefer to do it, but I well if it improves the sound.

That's a nice kit, btw. PM if you want to sell them.
