Yamaha Bass Drum ID info help...

So this guy in my neighborhood has a Yamaha 22" bass drum that he wants $50 for. It's been mal-refinished but all the hardware is intact. It's got these 2 level teardrop-shaped lugs, which are very large... He said he bought it used in the early 80's but couldn't give more info. Couldn't tell what the wood is, either.

Sorry to be so vague, just wondering if this is at all worth the fifty...

I would need to see pics of the tag and the drum itself. It's really hard to say, but if the wood inside is a dark color, it's more than likely mahagony and birch combination. Again, this really depends on the year, and model. If you like the drum and the sound of it and you can use it .... hell $50 for a bass drum is worth it all day!! :)
