WTB: Sonor Swinger Tension Rods/Misc Hardware

Loading...

Hi all-

First post! I'm looking to track down a couple tension rods for my Sonor Swinger kit: (think I finally identified that's what it is - no badges on it anywhere - got it off ebay)

I'm told current replacment parts from the Sonor factory are too narrow of a diameter for these lugs. Please let me know if you have anything else for the set I might want to stock up on. One of the wing nuts I have on the floor stand is definitely not original, same with half of the bass drum tension rods, and both original hoops are long gone. The floor tom tension rods are the most crucial though for now.

Thanks!

Nick

hey nick,

nice score :D! be carefull with those plastic lugs though. i'm currently working on a swinger kit myself and if you don't watch out while putting tension on the heads they can brake :(

if you are looking for tension rods check st-drums in germany. there you can find new screws for a really good price!

thanks for the info!

so, do the new tension rods fit these old lugs then? my local shop told me the new rods you get from sonor only fit post ~late 80s sonors. he made it sound like my only hope was to find someone with old hardware laying around in the basement somewhere. clearly i'd prefer it if i could just order them!

hey nick,

these lugs (sonor with the slut!) will fit the swinger lugs and the teardrop lugs.

the thread is the same. look:

(acutally not important but: the only difference is that you can't use the old screws with a new tuning key. the slot of the vintage screws is more narrow than the new ones. wich wouldn't be a problem since you would use new screws, and they work of course with a new or old key!) take care :D
