WTB Pearl CX-900 Hihat pair

Loading...

Looking to complete an all MIJ cymbal set. Yeah, I hear ya - I know what you are thinking....but there are some old MIJ cymbals that actually sound really remarkable. At the same time, I am not having much luck finding a pair of MIJ hats that sound any good - so I am going to go a little more modern and try to find some hats from the best line that Pearl ever made before they quit making cymbals. Still must be MIJ to qualify for my line-up. Sabian made some for them, though I don't think these CX-900 were made by Sabian - were still made by Pearl in Japan. Indeed correct me if I am wrong please.

So - looking for a pair of Pearl CX-900 HHs (not any 300s or 500s please, nor any 500 Wilds) This was considered their "Professional line".

Also looking for a good 18 inch MIJ Crash

Brands - Caravan, Maxitone, Kingston

Thanks,

John

Nobody has anything to add to this discussion??? I am sure you guys know SOMETHING about Pearl cymbals to advise this search. Specifically were the CX-900 made by Pearl in Japan? ....and do I have that model number correct? I have read CZ-900 also. OR should I be open to other models of Pearl's cymbals as well....specifically for HHs.

BTW - Anybody know anything about any MIJ cymbals that were undersized?

Thanks,

John

Hey Mickey -

Thanks for the tip. At the same time, These are the Pearls that I am NOT looking for. I am looking for the 500, 600, 900 series which are significantly better in quality.

These are the 300s. The 300s you are thinking of that was up on the forum were also the 300s offered by (I think) Ludwig-dude, though his were the older ones which are better, but still not what I am looking for.

Thanks though!

John
