Would appreciate any leads on these. Ludwig bowling ball blues, not the 60s version. As far as Slingerland, looking for white marine pearl, natural or anything sparkly. (I sound like a little kid..) Affordable players kit preferably as I have a kid in college. Thanks in advance.
WTB Ludwig 1970s Blue Oyster or Slingerland Kit
Hello Larryz

Its a players set:
The 13" and 22" are black n'brass badge
while the 16 its black n' silver. Has a Set-O-matic single tom holder
The bass drum got "customized" with modern spurs
the wrap and overall condition its pretty good.
Ill do $500.00 plus shipping from 91606 for the 3 pieces
If you want a 60's 5x14 COB snare to go with it that would be $700.00

Hello Larryz,
This is my first post at VDF, but I've been lurking as a guest for some time. My name is Dan and I've been a member at DFO for 15 months and Rogers Owners Forum for about a year. My username at DFO, Rogers Owners' Forum and eBay is the same as it is here...red66charger.
Can't blame you for wanting a 70's Ludwig Oyster Blue (Bowling Ball) set. I like the look of them too. This is not my set, and I don't know the seller, but I saw this a few weeks back and the listing is still active. These are in West Palm Beach, FL. Price seems very reasonable. http://miami.craigslist.org/pbc/msg/4057370521.html
Also, I have a 20/13/16 and matching 6-lug snare black/brass Niles badged Slingerland kit in White Marine Pearl for sale. The bass drum and toms I bought together in 1995 and I believe they date to 1968 or 69 (Set-O-Matic arm is stamped "PAT APLD FOR"). The snare I purchased last year and it has a 1966 date stamp inside. The snare matches the other drums perfectly. These are all original and no extra holes or major flaws. The snare has 16 strand Puresound wires. All heads are less than a year old. I'd like to get $700 plus actual shipping to lower 48 USA. I have them listed on DFO and eBay currently.
Good luck with your search. I plan on making a proper introduction to the VDF membership soon. I'm in need of a lot of advice on restoring a late '40's Slingerland Radio King set in Marble Lacquer. That's why I'm selling my beloved WMP Slingy's. I have a self-imposed "if something comes in, something goes out" rule right now. A 1,100 sq. ft. house will cause that.
Best,
Dan
