Anyone ever see Fibes Frost finish drums?
They look like this:

I have a mint 8x12 tom. I'd love to at least find a matching FT if not a BD too.

Yes, I saw a whole kit like this with 24 BD at Pro Drum, LA.
About 1 year ago. Very RARE.
Asked how much, and they said already purchased by Trey Cool of Green Day.
Stan said that they were LOUD!!
nice snare
My first drum teacher had a 12,14, 20 kit of them. They were amazing. She wishes she kept them.
The tom is really thick for an acrylic drum. Very heavy. Acrylic drums are generally pretty loud.
I just have it laying around as a decoration. But I'd rather use it for something. Or maybe I'll just give it to my old teacher for the heck of it.
ive never seen one? i like it!
any more pics?
Picked up a set last winter, 22, 12, 13, 16; no snare.
I had been chipping away at tidying them up. Bummed because I cannot buy Weldon 4 to repair one crack, I had slowed down to a crawl.
Couple of weeks ago, I figured I might as well play them, and they have moved into my gigging rotation. Interesting comments--all find the drums warmer and more musical than the appearances might promise. (And some of my gigs are on the quiet side.)
The interior shot with the toms mounted on the original holders was probably a one off. Too much torquey weight for those old drums.
The hardware is interesting--some of my key are too big to manoeuvre:
1. Sprung kick spurs with a special locking set up--very cool
2. Floor tom leg brackets (Require a key)
3. The tom mount hardware (Require a key)
Pretty terrific all-rounders.
Not for sale. Bought from a friend who inherited them from another friend,
Patrick
those are very cool!!
Hi,
I know they have a rep for being loud. These are relatively easy to dial into a quieter gig, and deliver a nice round tone at lower volumes. The headroom is certainly there to take it up to 11.
Meazzi also made a cool Acrylic kit in a "frosty" textured finish like that. Neat stuff!
I had never really paid much attention to Fibes drums, but these really caught my eye. Trippy!
I'll need to be on the lookout.
