WTB: Club Date BD T-rods/claws, FT rods.

Also, as a matter of personal opinion, I would advise when you get that kit up and running.. put that twelve tom on a rims mount. It made a huge difference on the sustain on my kit. It's easy to choke out tone on the twelve.

Rims are awesome, no $$ in the budget for em though. This kit came with a Ludwig Atlas snare stand, which I've been on the lookout for. I had one already for my snare, so the tom goes on the "new" one. I love the look, and don't find it chokes the tom too much for my taste.

I did the T-rod length test, it's a bit of a stretch, even with the extended inserts, which Id rather keep with the tom casings anyhow, for when I get to putting the second 12" together. So, at least now I know I gotta hold out for 7" Club Date T-rods.

On to the hoop. It is in fact 1 1/2" wide. Different kind of wood from the usual Ludwig BD hoop - pic of the inside shows this. More grain-like texture, on the inside anyway.

Let me know if you want it...and then I gotta come up with a price, dammit! :) Is $60 too high? How am I gonna ship it? I'm picturing it en-tubed in Cristmas paper, with a little tag hanging off...

Wow, that is a different grain. My slingerland is smooth. Those T rods are a tough one. I had to switch the bass to the extended collars to get the trods to work. but it was better than waiting for another set of trods when these ones showed themselves. Good luck on your search! If you change your mind, they'll probably be still sitting. If I come across any, i'll turn them your direction.

Yeah eh, maybe they forgot to sand this one. Of course secretly I want to hold on to it anyway lol but if someone wanted it I'd have to consider selling.

Do you have 1 3/4" hoops in use with the short t-rods? The funny thing is, these MIJ hoops I'm using are only 1 1/2", plus I tested on the batter side which the casings are 1/4" -closer- to, and it still seemed iffy. Maybe I did something wrong...bottom line if you had 8 of em I'd have to work with it.

Thanks for trying! I appreciate any help in this area a lot!

I measured my hoops and one is 1 5/8, and the other is 1 1/2. I don't know how that happened. Slingerlands are 1 1/2. But i took it off another red sparkle ludwig bass drum. Great.... This is gonna bug me now.

I appreciate the offer Jason. I do like to keep my mounts vintage-y though, and mostly I'm a-scared of shipping that hoop [which I also secretly want to keep in case I run across another one].

But thanks!
