the Remo special heads for my Trowa BD are arrived. I wanted to write Trowa on the front head, I need your advice to do that.
I make the logo with Illustrator, I will cut a stencil, but what is the best for write on a head ? paint ? marker ? ...

Find a local vendor that does vinyl stickers. You should just be able to email them the file and then it prints off their magic vinyl sticker printer. Mine usually cost $10-15. They have never come off. Seriously, my first one is still on their from 2003.

Are these individual letter type stickers that you get, or do they have the negative spaces covered in clear? Not sure I asked that right. :)

You asked that perfectly well. What you do not want are the horrible looking stickers that Ludwig used to use that had clear space between the letters. The vinyl graphics that DaddyNowhere makes and are the ones discussed here are referred to as die-cut vinyl. The "magic machine" literally cuts the logo out of adhesive vinyl which can be purchased in a multitude of colors including glitter. The cut out vinyl is bonded on it's face to a piece of low bond tape very similar to masking or painter's tape which keeps everything in it's correct alignment. You simply peel off the backing to expose the high bond vinyl and low bond alignment tape, press the entire thing in position and then peel of the alignment tape. Very easy and is exactly what you are looking for. I have used this process a lot on all of my kits. You really need vector based graphics for the machine to cut these for you. If DaddyNowhere does not have a logo for you, you can ask if he will make one. Next try a seller on eBay named Bodo10. Lastly, check a print shop and see if they can create the requisite vector art or point you to someone who can locally. Good luck my friend!
Another option is to find an art student who can literally hand draw and paint on the logo required. A hand painted vintage German drum logo can really add that certain 'authenticity' factor. Best of luck and be sure to put up photos of the finished work!

I, too, like the hand painted approach when/if possible.
Surrounded by drummers here! (I am a guitarist.) Appreciate the referrals guys. Unfortunately the timing could have been a little better for this one. Don't have facilities to cut the vinyl myself, and have had real trouble with finding a reliable local shop. Have just had a run of black vinyl logos cut, (which will be available shortly) and don't expect to do another black run for a while, otherwise I'd have happily included your logo. Suggest that you see if you can find a local shop to run one off for you, (i've found one-off runs running somewhere between $30 - $50). Beyond that, if you can transfer the linework onto the head, you could carefully do it in permanent black marker, or something that I've done in the past; trace onto clear frisket film, and carefully spray paint onto head. If you'd like, you can send me your vector file, and I will keep available in case I do happen to do another run of black. Sorry I couldn't be of more direct help.
