Wrapping in thin aluminium?

I would think that the aluminum would be less likely to dent if well secured to the drums. The hard wood surface underneath would not allow it to bend.

I vote for cesium.

Do you mean denting from general knock aboutness, things banging into it, falling on it etc...

That would be my concern, similar to drums finished in chrome wraps. Those wraps tend to make every little ding and dent painfully obvious to the eye.

I suppose in the unlikely but not impossible event that something fell on them in my little studio that I primarily only use myself (I don't have bands in to record), and the finish got a big dent, we could just coat another sheet of the stuff. However, if I have to fix it down as securely and permanently as I can then that sort of rules that option out.
