Hey guys,
I went through a phase of collecting Legend Drums maybe six years ago or so. One thing I acquired was a shell (only a shell) for a free-floating snare. Since the shell is of no use to me as is, and has no real collector value, I was thinking of having a second bearing edge (and snare bed) cut in to it. A few lugs later, and I could make a nice project drum out of it. Legend drums were always made from really great quality shells, but this one was tragically wrapped in black sparkle. So, my thought was to remove the wrap. But what would I have to deal with beneath it? Does the glue permanently discolor the wood, or is it possible to give it a nice walnut stain? I have zero experience with wrap removal, so it's all news to me.
Cheers,
Max
