Hey all, wondering what to do about this:
Taking the wrap off an old Radio King; no work on my part as it practically fell off (and the shell looks great underneath!). But the wrap goes into the shell a la the Ludwigs of the day so...
What does one do about that? Just cut it off as close to the seam as possible?
My intent is to have it rewrapped but like I said, it looks damn nice as is so who knows.

leaves a bump when you cut it off which is difficult to get rid of.

The mahogany is wonderful on it's own. If no bad stains from the wrap glue or ply staying stuck to the wrap I'd consider just going with as is. I'm leaving a bit of the wrap at the seam so down the road it is easy to tell it once was Gold Sparkle. Pic's?

Yea the mahogany looks great; nice and clean. The wrap is BDP that has been painted over so it definitely has to go.
I assume if I re-wrap then a little piece of the old wrap is not going to be much of an issue in terms of getting in the way. But to go with the natural look...that needs to be a clean cut!
If you cut the old wrap at the seam, it'll leave a white line. (Visible edge of the wrap.) Look for a dark brown Sharpie (permanent marker,) and make it disappear.
