Boy Bill that dont sound good, your asking us. All I can think of would be to get a corner up and drip some exylen (spelling) or lac thinner under the wrap and let it slowly disolve the old glue. If I think of anyting else Il let you know.

What happens if you got a gasket scrapper,with a good edge on it,and started lifting a little at a time?

Hey, thanks! I'm probably going to try a combination of the above suggestions. Again, I've NEVER seen anything quite like this. I spent two hours on it the other day and got from the seam over to the next (high tension, mach style) lug. It's got 12 lugs (instead of the normal 10 on a 22" BD), so that's not getting very far at all for 2 hours...

And wouldn't you know it? I'm sitting here at my desk with a Formica top in my HS office. The edges of the desk-top are long gone, and good portions of the top are loose -- in other words, I could probably strip this top off without using any hear and get it off in one piece!

So, why is it holding to the drum so well? :)

Bill they just used really good glue I suppose. I wonder if you were to get the shell cold then shoot some hot air on it, would that sudden temperature change make it pop? Whats the inside of the shell? Could you try heating from the inside? It used to be with laminate tops they would peel at the edges like your desk. The way to fix it was to place an iron on it and heat up the glue so it would re-adhear its self. Il bet your just gonna half to be patient ( not saying you are not) and try the sovents and lifting with a stiff putty knife. The drum wrap is probably a different material then the Fomica laminate and it was glued on with some adhesive designed to take all kinds of climate. Good luck, let us know how this turns out.

I'll try and get some pics up later this afternoon, when I get to quit monkeying with computers (around 3:30 CDT). This hasn't been a good day here at the school working on those things! AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!

And patience? Sometimes I have it, sometimes I don't. I have learned something about having several jobs going on at the same time -- get frustrated with one and you can just lay it down for a while and move on to another. That's what I did with this one...

Bill - how cold does it get at night where you are? Wait till the night temps drop down low, then put the shell out overnight. Or, stick it in a freezer for 24 hours.

See if that doesn't help. The wrap should just drop/bubble off the shell after a night in the freezing cold.
