His Slingy kit sold on EBAY for like twenty five grand or something sick like that.

That's must-see TV no matter what drums he's using.

Hate to be a cynic, but I wonder how much DW's apparent willingness to satisfy Peart's every whim (23" bass drums, NHL kit) enters into the equation?

DWs aren't for everyone, but their artistic staff is great at what they do. They can accommodate you if you want a drum to look like a drum or a motorcycle.

In any case, Peart has earned the right to be fickle.

Looks wise my favorite Peart kit will always be the "Farewell to Kings" "Hemispheres" era Slingerlands in Black Chrome Finish with the 24" Bass Drums. I just finnished watching Behind the lighted stage. And thoroughly enjoyed it. I had forgotten what a huge Rush fan I was when i was a teenager. Watching them do stuff like "Xanadu" reminded how awesome they were back then.

I miss the showtunes. Nobody covers Streisand like the boys from the Great White North.
