Wow - I feel a tad played...

Loading...

So earlier today I spotted an ad on CL. had been posted an hour before. Five piece MIJ kit ( good condition ) with a Rogers Dyna Sonic included as well as stands, hats, ride, throne.

I reached out asking if he would sell just the Dyna, even told him what he had and why I was making me offer. He seemed pleased ( he also knew what it was ) with my honesty and straight forwardness.

He was asking $250. Said someone had offered him $150. Then asked me ( I never made the offer ) if I was ok with $200. Said I could make that work.

He gets back to me again, nah sorry need the cash. Someone is coming by tonight, gotta sell it for what I'm asking.....

And I quote " You're the high offer, but It's too soon to call it quits " You want bidding, put it on Ebay.

You made me the offer for the lower price, I didn't. I was the 2nd guy to contact you, and you even work in the town I live in.

Maybe It's me on this one, but I feel played. Every other CL person I've dealt with goes by who reached out first. Basically you snooze you loose. That's life. This is BS.

And for me all I wanted was to buy the drums to flip and make money towards my business. I don't have the personal funds for more than what I am committed to already buying, and wanted some good inventory. But now, I could care less. Guy makes me swear I'll come by cash in hand, then sucker punches me. First I got the wife tale, now a kid tale on top of my family is mad I'm selling for this price, etc etc etc.

Sorry guys needed to vent.

It can be very frustrating. I always get the guy I don't want - sells to latecomer when I had first dibs, or won't sell to me for more money....ahh, well.

Hang in there...

Was he asking $250 for whole kit or just dyna?

$250 for the kit, which I didn't think was a bad deal since it had stands, cymbals, two snares. I never haggled the price. I simply asked if he would sell the Dyna separate and told him what it was and why I wanted to buy it ( not knowing he knew what it was ) and he shot me a price of $200 for everything which as fine by me.

And then got weirder and weirder with his messages to me. Resulting in this ain't happening, lol

Here are the photos from CL. Not a bad looking kit. There was also no description of anything. So the cymbals could be decent, and the drums look MIJ, but ya never know.

When you see a deal like that, jump on it quick, don't even bother with just trying to get the one drum. Tell him you'll come over right now. I saw a Ludwig b/o badge 6.5 supra for $85, it did have some pitting, but who cares, I called the guy and picked it up within an hour of seeing the add.

I agree with JR...Act first, think later in these cases...

It`s still a disappointment when a seller backs out though...There will be other deals that come your way...It just wasn`t meant to be!!

Cheers

Yea he did. Ya know it kills me, he said he has a pro drummer buddy who told him the snare is worth $200 and that he was nuts for putting the deal together for $250. Told him to ask $400 for everything.

Funny though, you read his post and he asks if it's worth it to sell it separate then jumps back into but I gotta sell everything together.

Johnnyringo and grantro you are both right. But sadly with this case I wonder. Even if I agreed to the asking price and was able to come by this evening. I almost feel the flood of calls / texts still would have made this guy back out. After all, he posted his message on the forum after 6:30 when the " supposed " buyer was coming by. Which leads me to wonder.
