Woodgrain quality on 70s Gretsch Kit??

Hello all,

Was wondering if anyone knew the quality of the wood that (as far as laquering/staining ideas) is on the 70s Grestch kits? I have a blue sparkle kit that's wrap is pretty deteriorated, would like to know what my options are here. Also, how hard is it to get all the glue off these babies to get to the wood underneath? Thanks-

From what i,ve heard,removing wrap off Gretsch drums is not easy.They have a cloth like material under the wrap.Im sure someone will be along to assist you..good luck....What sizes are your drums?
