So for the Slingerland kit I am re-doing to sell I bought the wrap off Ebay and some parts from a fellow member ( not mentioning any names ). The seller reached me directly through a PM, gave me their Paypal e-mail and even asked to add $5 onto the total since Gift was not the way to go, No problem, I know Paypal takes their 3% so $5 is no big deal. Money was sent seven days ago and was received. I have not heard a word from the seller since Monday. Sent him a message basically saying I understood he may not get my parts out due to weather and it being a national holiday. Only reply I got was what i sent quoted, nothing more. Waited a day and sent en e-mail saying I was sorry for the message from the day before, didn't mean to imply anything. Have not heard a word one way or the other. I'm not sure how long I should wait before I go to Paypal and try and contact him that way. Or how long before I say I never got my parts and request a refund? I know life can happen and sometimes we can't get to the internet. But it being a week now has me a tad worried. I'm trying not to think I got screwed, but hearing nothing back isn't helping. And truthfully I went ahead with this deal because the positive things I heard about this seller in recent times. Did not think I'd be here worrying.

Wasn't Tom. Even still, avoiding any names out of respect and this could all just be life taking place and be nothing at all. I've just never experienced something to this effect where I may have to go back and get a refund,etc.. So I'm not exactly sure what a good grace period is?

Hi,
Do you have a telephone number for him, or do you know anyone who knows him personally that could let you know if everything is ok with him (healthwise)?
I think If I were you, I'd allow him a few more days before opening a case with PayPal.
I hope it all works out for you.
Got in touch with someone who knows him. Told them the story before I gave the name. When they asked for the name and I gave it what I got was " OH NO! " Then I was strongly advised to get in touch with Paypal.
Shortly after this - and before calling Paypal I did hear from the seller. Said he was in the hospital. Now I've heard he gives numerous excuses, I'm gonna hope this isn't one and give it until Monday as he asked. But if by Monday night I have no tracking number, Paypal here I come. I'll keep some faith that sh!t happened that was clearly beyond his control. We'll see.

It is always best to wait as long as possible and give the benefit of the doubt. There was an extremely well known seller here who went MIA. Turns out he had all kinds of personal issues and if I recall correctly - indeed landed in the hospital.
We see warnings with names given - and I completely support that practice so as to keep it from happening over and over within our community. I always use the transaction feature on PP so there is some recourse there to use. The fee for it is nothing compared to if there was no protection.
Positive feedbacks are great too!
Glad things will work out.

So I heard back today. This was the message I received -
" Hello Jason,
This is Sharon, ( remaining nameless's ) friend and he asked me to tell you he is back in the hospital today and if need be, cancel the payment and he will send you the parts for free when he gets out. He's so sorry for all of the delays. If you need anything else text me back here on his phone. "
I tend to think that life just happened here and that I wasn't getting " conned " or whatever you wanna call it. I'll get in touch with Paypal tomorrow and in a few days I'll see how the guy is doing. And at least I have word from the seller saying cancel payment, this should make the cancellation easier and quicker. Hope the guy is ok though, never like to hear that people gotta go to the hospital.
