Why are people so stupid...?

OK, so I have my WMP restored kit listed for sale. I have gotten not one, but TWO emails today asking if I would take 200 including shipping. I did my part and explained the deep details of what they are and what has been done to them. Am I an idiot or am I just dealing with stupid people? I do exceptional work and am not asking an outrageous price. Please, someone give me gun so I can kill myself before these idiots give me a stroke.

John, I feel your pain, You know when your passionate about something you do, you end up with an attachment to the article you've spent so much time and labor restoring back to or modifying to Improve a flaw, but there are those that just Don't Give a Rats azz, what we've sweat-ed and tolled over, they just want an Instrument and are only willing to spend a certain ridiculous amount to purchase it, Don't take offense to it, just delete them or just say sorry can't sale them for that price.stay patient you'll get a serious buyer eventually.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

I had a kit listed recently on eBay with an opening bid of about a grand. I had a special 1500 package deal with the buyitnow that included a couple of snares and some other cool goodies. Some mook who evidently buys and sells vintage drums emails me an insulting lowball offer of 900 for everything, including the special buyitnow offer.

Needless to say, I said no ... in a not so nice way.

Makes one consider a second run of Eugenics in America. Might curtail these flakes in the future.

A pro low baller will not be offended by your remarks about them,in fact they may enjoy it.Truth of the matter is this is how they deal with everything and sometimes,it works for them, especially in real estate. There are people who are desperate to sell for various reasons, and these bottom feeders know that so they try until they hit a nerve.Just ignore them if you can and dont take their aggressive nature personally.I cant stand this type of person either, but be aware they are out there in large numbers.

Hit like you mean it!!

geeze it gets to the point that every one and there brother is a vintage drum flipper /collector , i had a guy come to look at a beater 1969 pearl 5 piece with 8 lug cos snare, for a $150.00 with the tight pearl rap in gold and he wanted it so bad on the phone . So i met him at my ware house and he saw my 64 Ludwig mint New Yorker in silver sparkle with jazz fest snare, i was trying it out, (its so low to the ground i love playing that little kit ) so he saw the luddys and he all of a sudden tells me he's got this drum disease and wants to learn about the old kits we love and cherish and also flip, so he goes there and starts looking at my badges ( stinking badges who needs them) and thanks me for the education !!!!! and leaves... thats what i get for not covering the ludwigs up sometimes i think ignorance is bliss... There are too many people who know now (Or at least think they know) what is going on in the vintage drum world and mark my words someday that 65 down beat set will bring big big moneys until then we have to hold true to the value of our drums and tell the low ballers to stick it but good ....just sounding off i guess im staring to feel better

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

John, you have to look at it realistically. You can explain details all you want about how you restored them and you may feel that you should be compensated for that work. In all reality, this is a down economy and they are MIJ kits. They are not as highly collectible as the American made and regardless of what of the work you put into them, you will be the only person who sees the value in them at the price you are wanting. All others will only see what they are willing to pay, until you meet the person who feels as strongly about the kit as you do.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....
