Just picked up this nice clean little stencil kit clubdate type lugs hoops are stick saver style The chrome and the wrap is excellent all shells have inner reinforcing hoops ,bass drum has 3 .... seem to be 100 % original with exception of heads...any idea who made these Star ?? Pearl ?? sizes are 20 x 14 12 x 8 16x16 14 x 5

Is there a badge anywhere? I guessed Star but have no idea for certain. Very cool BDP finish and beautiful kit!

I saw a snare with that same strainer called a Hi-Lo. Looks Star.

a couple of guys figure its Star brand have you any ideas ?? would you use a star or Hoshino bass head logo i like to be sure cause, I have to order some from Barrhaven drumguy

A really great looking MIJ set! The tom holder suggests Hoshino, but Star is also possible. My early 60's Crown set uses the same tom holder and I believe my Crown is Hoshino built. I'm not at home right now to verify. Regardless, you really scored a well-preserved set of MIJ drums!
