Which Ludwig rail mount is the correct one?

So I picked up these Ludwig shells tonight for $180... 22-13-16.

The guy had moved the rail mount to the middle of the bass drum and put two Ludwig mounts on it. So now I'm wondering which one likely came on the kit back in '66.

Also... are those spurs right??

I gotta go get a Ludwig book.

The rail mount was originally to the left - to my knowledge, only

the Club Dates had the rail in the center.

The spurs appear to be (way too long) replacements - Danmar

makes the correct gull wing replacement spurs (#1036). You can

find them at drumfactorydirect.com

Just curious - Reso side bearing edges OK? Shells in-round?

Hope this helps.

Tom mount on the rail on left being original does makes sense now that I think about it... he probably would not have moved the original over to the right side. That right one does have Ludwig stamped on the flat riser part. (Sorry for the horrible pics)

Shells round-- yes! Reso bearing edges-- beat to crap. :( Seams on wrap lifting a little... it's a total player.

The MIJ tom he had mounted on the MIJ right side mount has the original Ludwig bass drum shell mount cymbal L-arm holder on it... so it is nice to have that part.

Holes to move the rail back to the correct placement are there... so the two holes drilled to center it are the only extras... that's nice.

Thanks for tip on the spurs... time to go parts hunting.
