When the bass player cannot understand that he is always rushing....I have played with too many of that type!guitar2
When It's time to leave a band -
You know I have always practise 2 nights a week 3. Plus hours when I was in a rotgut working band just covers and did it as close as we could and still had issues so I say the more practise the tighter you get and it sounds like the band is heading in a different direction than you at this time , I would give notice finish the few Gigs left , than say adios. next !

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
So last week I gave my goodbyes to the band. Waited to play the show we had booked before I broke the news. But I also made sure to give them plenty of time as the next show is on Nov 12th. So roughly two months to find someone. But I did say that if need be I can play the show on the 12th if they don't have anyone ready. Didn't burn any bridges or cause any conflict. Good people, just wasn't working band wise.
Another note - the band that asked me to play with them on the 21st I think was impressed by me. I went in having done my homework as I knew we were only getting three practices in before the show ( each four hours mind you ) In the band conversation the bassist made mention that I was the only guy in the room who " owned " his parts. This coming from guys who I consider to be a few levels above me. So hearing that really made me proud of myself. If anyone is in or around Newark Delaware on Oct 21st we're gonna be in town kick @$$!
