Interesting topic; I,ve made lots of enemies on forums by calling people out. Some are just so ignorant you wonder how they get through the day without getting hurt, but I have learned to "IGNORE" them. They are not worth the raise in your blood pressure.

I,ve been at this a long time so you need to relax..set a fair asking price with a little wiggle room...react positively when you are insulted, and you will be...politely respond with a "no thankyou"...Most importantly, don't feed the idiots, they come back for more if they sense they pushed your button...I think I'm better these days, but I'm in the process of selling off my gear as well...remember what mom said.

Time and energy is not worth it. You could have it priced at $50 and you'd have someone offering you $40.

It sure looks like you priced it very reasonably, and showed prospective buyers that you not only truly know what you have, but that you love and respect your vintage drums. Any educated buyer would understand and respect your position. To many buyers, though, it’s all about the thrill of the hunt, and the eventual kill.

Ever held a garage sale? Advertise that it starts at 8:00am, and you’ll have these people pounding on your door at 6:30. Ever sold stuff at a flea market? You can have price tags of $50 on something, and they’ll offer you $10. They must smite you, the seller, to feel the victory they seek.

I kinda like buying stuff, but hate selling stuff. Mostly because of what you and others have experienced.

Every idiot wants to buy under wholesale , it’s usually the wholesalers that put it up for sale past your original price !

being from Canada also, I have found that kijiji is just entertainment for a good many.

I find when we buy we always look for a little wiggle room, I typically try to compare what I want to buy to other fair market sales that have taken place and usually ~ 10% wiggle unless it is already priced fairly. But I agree with you and everyone else posting, some people are just trying to get something for nothing. I would say try not to get really ticked off. I find a response of "thanks for the offer but I am considering more equitable and realistic ones" works well. Compared to . . . Soap Box Well I think you know what I was going to write cause our Web Master would just delete what I wrote.

That's a fair price for your kit, but be aware of the massive inventory available out there right now. My thought is, if you don't HAVE TO sell, then don't. Put it away till things get better. When there is a glut of gear,some people treat you like you need drug money and you,ll sell it for pennies on the dollar....very annoying for sure.

You can tell you put some work into polishing the kit. It looks great. Pricing seems fair at $800 US.

One way to attract more buyers is to state that you'll accept Paypal. You can add the fees to the price. $23.20 for a $800 sale.

Stand firm on the price, and wait for a respectable buyer. Unfortunately, i was offered $1000

for the kit a while back and i refused cause i thought i could get a little more. Guess i was wrong. I'll wait a little while longer and see who else is interested. The worst part about living where i live is the fact that there are many that don't understand English, but even so, i do state in my ad that i do speak French and that they are free to ask any and all questions in regards to the kit. I've always ignored lowballers, unless they were very close to a fair price, then i'd see if they were willing to pay a little more to satisfy us both. So far, that hasn't been to my advantage. This kit was perfect for the gig for which it was intended,(McCartney Tribute) and sounded great. But until more gigs roll in for 2018, it'll either be collecting dust in my closet, or hopefully find a new home in some Ludwig enthusiast's rehearsal space, studio, or gigging more often. I do have a feeling that if i still have the kit by the spring, the gear heads will come out of hibernation and then maybe we'll see some more serious offers.
