What's the Value of a Camco Kit

Loading...

Know someone who is looking to sell his natural finished 5pc Camco kit in great condition to buy my DW kit. He doesn't know anything about vintage drums and their value and I know nothing either about Camco so I suggested searching this forum. Well I was curious so I did and found nothing that was sold so if you guys can lend a hand it would be appreciated. Pictures would be nice I know, but until he sends them I have nothing to post.

Ooops, just realized I posted in the wrong section, not sure if i can delete and repost.

Do your research ALL across the web. There are many many many other places that will give you real market value for Camco drums (and many other makers). Also, check ebay past completed sales. Good luck and have a blast.

I owned a natural maple set of Camco's that were made in the LA factory in the late 70's, loved them. These drums were underrated and nobody wanted them then. If they're in good shape be ready to pay some $$ for them. They have a great warm sound live and in the studio. Remember drums are like baseball cards, they won't sell for what a book or a dealer says their worth, their worth what someone will actually pay for them.

Mcjnic's advice was sound. The only valuations you will get here is what one or two guys say they are worth, and not many like to "appraise" kits anyways. There are several posts regarding this very fact to be honest, and some have publicy stated they actually resent the fact people ask for a kit's value.... Searching here for a kit's value is a waste of time.

Kits don't sell on here very often and when they do, it is all transacted via private messaging and the particulars are rarely, if ever, made public.

Good luck on your quest though!!

Here's a link on Ebay to use as a reference depending on shell sizes, condition, etc. Hope it helps. AS STATED PREVIOUSLY a kit is only worth what you can get out of it.

For a accurate quote need to know sizes, condition of chrome , any extra holes, finish, or modifications from original. Details,Details Details and Pics,Pics, and more Pics to be fair to both parties.
