What the heck did I get this time ?!?!?!?

So here is my new . . . Frankenstein Marcher.

I picked up this 14” marcher yesterday from Kijiji for little to nothing.

I bought it because I saw the Ludwig Bowtie lugs and most of them looked like they were nickel over brass or steel (will need some help to distinguish nickel vs chrome). To me it appears to have Premier hoops and tension rods, (maybe the shell) and an easy to identify Pearl throw. Not quite sure on the snare butt as I have never seen one quite like this.

You can see from the holes that the person modified it to add the second set of bowtie lugs a different strainer, and butt. There are no vent holes and there are very minute snare beds cut into the reinforcing rings.

Any ideas if what I described for parts is correct (rims and tension rods) and if not who the mfg’s are? I have never seen a snare butt like this one nor rims with cast rounded tension rod holes.

It appears they had painted the inside and definitely the outside and added sprinkle glitter (maybe a kid’s school project, but it would be an expensive one).

No Guru - I just love collecting & learning about vintage drums!

Some of my favorites from the kits in the collection
58 WFL New Yorker Blue Sparkle
67 Ludwig Hollywood Red Psychedelic
69 Ludwig Standard Red Ruby Strata
70's Ludwig BOP "Ringo" Kit

A few of my favorite snares
20's Leedy Black Elite
51 Leedy & Ludwig Knob Tension
58 WFL Buddy Rich Classic Blue Sparkle
63 Walberg & Auge Sea Blue Agave Green Pearl
66 Leedy Shelly Manne Blue Agate Pearl

Mike,

Those rims look just like the ones I have on an old COS Premier marcher, so given the Premier tension rods, I wouldn't be surprised if that is indeed a Premier marcher (but with off-brand lugs and strainer). I'm sure some Premier experts will chime in.
