I used Zildjian Super 5B wood tips for about 10 yrs straight, now i have trouble finding them for sale. Recently switched to Ludwig 5A wood tips and love them.

Vic Firth Terry Bozzio Phase 1. I love the extra length and large tip, which gets great tom and cymbal tones, even at low volumes.

Used to use Vic Firth Generals in the "Disco"days, and since about 86-Powertip CCC-big and fat, medium length and light.I wear the tips out way before they break.Really nice balance point, with grippy grooves. Also have a pair of Ludwig 2A's from the 70's that I wish they still made.Maybe Mikey has some in his Wayback machine.....

I found all your posts very interesting. I am so set in my ways, that I can't recall buying any other sticks. And, sadly, I've never heard of many of the models you guys use. Maybe it's time I do some window shopping.

Thanks for your responses, guys.

I'm Vic Firth 5A when I'm rockin'. And Vic Firth 7A when I'm Jazzin'. All other sticks seem to not quite connect like those do for me. Although I have a set of Pearl sticks I bought in Japan some years ago that are very nice for pad work.

Nothing but Pro Mark 2B, 100% Oak. I find the oak sticks splinter far less, make less of those fun shavings we all love to hate as drummers, and are simply more durable. That being said, here in the expensive land of North America a pair costs me $13.95............yikes!!!!:p

Try the Promark Shira Kashi Oak 5B. Great sticks. They are almost all I use.

Regal Tip Rock Nylon Tip. Great balance, and I love the finish.

Same here, I use them for several month so far, totally satisfied with them!
