What Songs To Perform At A Nursing Home?

Loading...

I plan on performing a solo concert at a Nursing Home where my mother living (https://threelinks.org/) in a few weeks, and I have compiled a list of 64 possibilities for songs. The songs should be VERY familiar to the elderly patients, so the more popular among older folks, the better !

Some Enchanted Evening

So In Love

I Get a Kick Out of You

It Might as Well Be Spring

I Love Paris

People

People Will Say We’re in Love

Small World

Sunrise, Sunset

I’ve Got Rhythm

Don’t Rain on My Parade

Night and Day

Somewhere

Another Op’nin’, Another Show

Something’s Coming

They Can’t Take that Away from Me

This Nearly Was Mine

I Have Dreamed

Younger than Springtime

If Ever I Would Leave You

Climb Ev’ry Mountain

Hernando’s Hideaway

Hey There

If I Were a Rich Man

Lullaby of Broadway

My Favorite Things

My Funny Valentine

On The Street Where You Live

Hello timjn... and Welcome to the forum!

Going to be honest here and say that I don't quite understand what you're asking. Your post is in the "For Sale" section. Did you join just to get opinions on if these songs are appropriate for your gig at the nursing home? What instrument do you play? Being that this is a drum forum, does that mean your going to be playing drums only? Weird! My guess is that you are a keyboard player? I'm familiar with many of the songs you posted and feel confident they will be perfect for your gig. Anyway, hope you'll check back in with a bit more about yourself, etc.

Hey Mark! ...

... and yes indeed! This post is much better placed/served in the General category. Outside of that, ya ... not quite a vintage drums query? Thus, General it is, and we'll see what transpires. THANKS!

I would love to see someone solo drumming their way through that whole list of songs at a nursing home, lol.

I consider myself a pretty fair musician but, playing a drum solo for "Sunrise, Sunset" is WAY beyond my skill set!

Brian

Just a drummer who loves all things about vintage drums! Nothing more, nothing less.

Great that you are playing for the folks.. they will love it. If they are like the folks at my mom's place they will just love being entertained. Any of your set list looks perfect. Keep it up tempo and up beat... happy. Maybe pass a lyric sheet out on a couple and invite them to sing along. As you know... responsiveness can be limited from many people but in their hearts they are loving it. BRAVO my friend... the greatest gig ever!!

Not a Guru... just interested..
