Hi. I recently bought this little blue drum on Ebay - more out of curiosity than anything else and fortunately I didn't pay a lot for it. It has no apparent makers name on it, no badge or air vent hole although it does have 8 what appear to be Ludwig bow-tie lugs on it. The triple-flange hoops are brass and (I think) nickel plated. The throw is broken but it does have gut snares on it. Internally it appears to be mahogany ply with re-rings. Written on the inside is a name and '1962'. It was advertised as a Ludwig but it almost certainly isn't. Someone has (and not very well) painted the wooden shell an 'attractive' metallic blue although they did actually remove the lugs to do so.
I'd be interested to know what anyone thinks this is. Maybe a MIJ Ludwig copy? I really don't have a clue.
