Looks like the grommet has been tampered with, the lines are very clean, it looks restored and re-wrapped to me as well !!
The inside of that grommet should be smooth like the front of it,..it`s not !!

I think Roger is right on. The close up of the floor tom looks exactly like the Precision BDP I used to rewrap a 16X16 to match a 60s Luddy kit. The color match was perfect but the diamond pattern was a bit smaller therefore a bit busier.
I did a patch up job once on a 1960's BDP Ludwig bass drum.
The picture is showing exactly what the fellas are talking about,…
The color and pattern are looking an awful lot like some of the pictures on Jammin Sam's website,…

Exactly. Nice example. Thanks.
After all of this talk if it is a RE-WRAP or not I took the heads off to see and sure enough there is NOT any wrap in the shell PERIOD. If it was a REWRAP wouldnt there be some residual wrap in between the plys? There is none top or bottom. The grommet on the inside was the give away.On the other clubdate sets I own you can see the wrap in the plys. The tom still sounds great, but the color?? h-m-m-m-m-m....
Could have been a duco kit so there would be no wrap in the shell. Looks to be a refinished kit.
This is what Real Ludwig black diamond pearl looks like!
