What are your "holy grail" hats ?

Just thought i'd start a thread asking a question that isn't asked too often.. What are your "go-to", "holy grail", or 'ultimate" hi hats that you use for just about every situation, application, live or in studio ?

Here are my beauties. A set of Blue Label Medium 15" Paiste Formula 602's, circa 1981..

According to Paiste collectors, these are " IT " ! The Holy Grail of Hi hats..For some reason,

it is these 80's Blue Label 602"s that are the most sought after, and rare.. Especially the 15"s, which i've been the very proud owner of for the past 4 years..I got them for the insane price of $75.00 Cdn dollars !

These are gonna be buried with me when i depart from this earth :D

Vintage Paiste users and collectors, please don't hate me because i was lucky ;);)

So let's see your all of your special babies :)

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Best hats I have ever owned or played, ..... Custom matched 14 K Custom dark top over A Custom Projection bottom. I paid 75.00 for them. Sold them because I .......... foolishly thought I could later duplicate that sound again. I was wrong. Impossible to duplicate.

I still use my late 60's 14" Zildjian New Beat hats, which were given to me brand new by my grandmother, who was in the music business! They are on the lighter side of what has been produced from the 70's onward. They are just beautiful sounding hats! Pictured here with my 1968 BR 80N kit!

I know what you mean.. I had a rare pair of 12" vintage A's that were from the late 60's or early 70's, i can't remember.. Beautiful and very thin.. But they weren't new beats.. If i had a set with sentimental value such as yours i would never sell them.. ;)

Cool.. I was always and still am occasionally, a 14" hats guy, but ever since i've discovered the 15", i don't think i could go back.. There's something about that size that is extremely versatile..

14" Zildjian New Beats with hollow logos that faded long ago. I started playing on May 1, 1977, and I've had these since then. They don't make them that thin anymore.

13" Zildjian K/Z. Very responsive, good chic that cuts through. I get a lot of good comments from guitarists and vocalists.
