Just curious, I saw a pic of a set with "yellow tiger wrap" thought it was cool!

All of the late 70’s veneer finishes are rare. I have rosewood oil veneer on my kit and I've only seen a handful of the rosewood, some lacquer, some oil, since I got them.

Just from the 60's, I'd say rare Slingerland finishes are Capri Pearl, Mardi Gras Pearl, Fiesta Pearl, Oyster Pink, Tangerine Satin Flame, Lavender Satin Flame, Yellow Tiger, White Tiger, Grey Agate, Orange Sparkle, Purple Sparkle, Green Sparkle, Black Sparkle, Smokey Sparkle, White Sparkle, Maroon Sparkle, Peacock Sparkle, Pink Sparkle, Blue Ripple, Red Ripple, Aqua Sparkle. All uncommon and somewhat hard to find. In the 70's, you had the fabric covered drums and they are rare too. And ugly! They look like bad draperies.

Hey DB! Are you referring to those wonderful Aztec wraps?!!! I'd also like to add Sparkling Purple Pearl to the list of somewhat rare finishes from the early 70's. Here's my kit set up in two different configurations.

There's a Yellow Tiger kit on eBay right now... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-Slingerland-Vintage-YELLOW-TIGER-PEARL-Drum-Set-Zildjian-cymbals-1969/303304840002

Yes, it's a rare finish, but I just don't think it's $3000 rare! Am I wrong?

That's a cool kit Mark. Some better pictures would be nice though. What's your take on that tom mount?

Yes, for the money being asked, better pictures should be mandatory! As to the tom mount, it was Slingerland's first double-tom mount, the 171. It was a failure, as the toms tended to droop down on each side. Slingerland's "fix" was to use a piece of rubber to stabilize the toms!
