We can turn this into a crying party...
....and I could tell you about the cloud-badge Radio King kit on eBay about 3 years ago...WITH the single ply-snare...some guy was auctioning. He hadn't labeled the auction right...so it wasn't coming up on "Slingerland" searches...I think I found it on a "vintage drumset" search. It went for $500.00...including all the hardware. I made a mistake on the closing time, missed it by 2 mins......Violin
Y'know the amazing thing about once-in-a-lifetime deals like these...???
They are NOT once-in-a-lifetime.
Be diligent. Be vigilant. Keep an eye.....it'll come to you. ;)
Also, be knowledgeable....Luddies and Gretsches and Rogers....those are the hottest old kits. But what about Slingys or Premiers or Sonors ? Those tend to go a bit cheaper; attract a bit less of a crowd. Man, those old '60's Premiers are sweet old drums...thin shelled birch with awesome rings/edges...just sweeeeet. There were a lotta makers around back then who did great quality stuff....
