Thanks guys! Gerald, it's still a little cloudy but it's the best I could get it this time. Here's what I did: soak overnight in dawn/water, then wash/rinse. Buffed out everything on a bench grinder with a cloth wheel and tripoli compound. Another wash with dawn/water to get the buffing compound off, then a quick polish with Mother's chrome polish. I tried Mother Mag/Aluminum polish, but that actually made them less shiny. It sounds like a lot but it wasn't bad for just one drum.

Yes great work on this one. Man it looks beautiful. I really like nickel finish. Very classy looking. The Classic strainer is a really cool design too. A keeper for sure.
