Looking for a Camco drum key for my snare drum!
WANTED- Camco drum key
Just a regular Camco key? Or the key that was made for the Camco drum key holder? That key has a little groove around the end, which catches on the little ball bearing in the holder.
Either...!
They all fit......most people know the value and they're expensive. Never heard of the keys with grooves.
If you want something to just work because it's really handy having a drum key you can just take out of your snare drum but aren't fussed about the brand name on it (as was my case), I got someone to file down some modern DWs to fit - works OK but the bit that is filed down tends to rust.
Rogers and Duplex keys also fit - along the way I got an unbranded key (probably Duplex) and Rogers, both of which work. The Camco stays at home, the generic and Rogers go out gigging.
Another small point, some of those key holders are a smidgen tighter than others. No idea why. The Rogers key fits one but is too wide for the other.
They all fit, but they don't all stay. The regular Camco key can be had for $25 -$45, the one with the groove will go over $150, maybe that's why you haven't heard of it.
Maybe this one will go cheap enough for you.

We'll agree to disagree - as long as the spring and ball bearing are in the key holder, the key stays in place.
But I've experienced a couple of key holders where the spring and ball bearing are missing.
