Want a sizzle ride without modifying a cymbal

Loading...

Any recommendations for a sizzler for my vintage ride(s)? I've seen a few in the past but don't really have any idea what to look for. Thanks!

1964 Slingerland Sound King 13/15/22 Ebony Satin Stain (refin.)
1965 Ludwig Downbeat 13/16/20 Turquoise Sparkle (rewrap)
1967 Ludwig Club Date 13/20 w/16" downbeat FT in Blue Oyster Pearl
1979/80 Ludwig Classic 13/14/24 Wine Red
1980 Yamaha Rec. Cust. 12/13/16/22 Cherry Red

...plus an ever-growing snare farm... Luddy/Ayotte/Slinger/Pearl/etc.

I use this rattler and it works great for me. It is convenient to use right in the middle of the set or song. There is also a smaller version called the sizzler. I haven't used but I would assume it is a great product as well.

Thank You,

Been using this Camco sizzler for decades. The arms, that drop down when you want sizzler, have three rivets each. Works great, but I'm not sure if you can find one any more. They were light weight aluminum and got bent up or broken if not handled with care in the trap case.

Man, just tape a penny to the cymbal. It works.

Here's something.

I have no idea if it's any good or not.

+1 on the taped penny

also try a fan chain (the kind you pull to turn a ceiling fan on) attached the stand...

I'll give em a shot! By taping, do you mean tape a flap and have the penny at the end of it?
