Vistalite to Sell Opinions

Loading...

Hi All,

Wanted to get some opinions on how much I should look to sell a 8 piece clear Ludwig Vistalite 70's kit. The 8 piece is- double bass, 4 across the top and single floor tom. 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 2-22's.

Boom stands, hihat, and snare stand are Hercules, but the rest are other obtained (a yahama, and two no names for cymbal stands and anything else I have was what came with it on a used purchase back in the 90s. Cymbal booms do have some pitting that after cleaning remains.

Do not have the original clear snare, never did :(. What I do have with this is a Slingerland 14x5, chrome, thinks it's steel, nothing special as I understand it.

Condition is good to good+, not excellent as there are some years of marks here/there but no deep scratches or cracks or anything like that, all Vistalite drums are in good working order. The seam did separate on the 14 with a triangle piece that came with one side at the top I had repaired at a drum shop back n the 90's and they did a pretty poor job now looking back at it now but the drum plays well and no buzzing or anything.

I manually cleaned all the hardware and very few pieces left that have any pitting or oxidation. I did find some broken lugs over time that I pulled from other drums to do bottom heads, the 2nd bass right now needs 5. Heads in all good condition, Remo Ebony Ambassadors top/bottom with aquarian on the kick. The second bass has a remo clear batter and an ebony front with sticker. I've got the sticker for the pictured kick.

5 cymbals included, 2- dw5000 pedals, a first and second generation I believe them to be, bought in the 90s. 4 Zildjian A's, an 18" Rock Crash, 18" Med-Thin Crash, an 18" China, and a 20" keyholed ride. The hats are a top 14" Zildjian A with a Ludwig standard mismatched bottom. A 12" inch small crash is actually a 12" high hat cymbal which has a crack in it, none of the other cymbals are cracked.

Wondering what I should list this kit for. I see 2k-5k on ebay of even 5 piece Vistalites old and new, but I don't see anything as big, 8 piece out there in example of like what I have. Vistalites seem hot out there these days, how hot are they?

The pic attached is recent, 4-5 months ago where I had a six piece setup playing along in a cover band thing that was going on. Getting a chance to play these is so far and few inbetween, for space reasons, I'm consider selling them.

Thanks,

Appreciate thoughts and replies.

Appreciate the views, value your guys opinions in the subject. Originally I didn't have pics of the full set to post but was able to setup and get some shots. Drums are in good shape, not excellent, but good. Bought these used in '91, took care of them since that time, liked the ebony heads and added hoops to all the bottom toms that were originally missing. Looking to sell as said, trying to determine a selling price and appreciate any opinions.

Thanks,

try researching "sold listings" on eBay to get an idea of a selling price for something similar.

If I was specifically interested in a kit like that, I'd probably pay 2,000-2,500 maybe. That's me.. Nice looking kit buddy! Maybe others will jump in and give you a better ballpark figure

Thanks Brewkowski, really appreciate your reply. It's a fun kit to play, not top tier as you guys know but have enjoyed having them. Space and volume has always been the challenge, I just don't get to play 'em, wish it was different but is the reason for the sell. Looking at Roland for the interest, just volume challenged, too much to keep dragging around. Thanks again Justin, appreciate the reply!
