Vintage W&A Kit Restoration

From Purdie Shuffle

A little update... my buddy, Creighton is making up two rubber ink-stamps with W&A logos for the bass drum head and for the snare and tom heads! (Jeremy, the current owner of W&A approved and supplied the art.)When the logos are on the drums, I'll add a couple of shots of the newly stamped heads with the W&A company logos on them. A finishing touch of "Perfection." :DJohn

Glenn - He contacted me and he offered me the stamps along with a convincing argument about how ink would be better than a sticker on that old calf head. Made perfect sense to me. He refused my offer to compensate him for the stamps which tells you a lot about what kind of a cool, generous spirit he is. A public thank you is in order...

That's very nice of Creighton! I agree he's one of the good guys for sure. Few years ago he made 2 Radio King stamps and sent them to me no charge. Also sent a 1959 date stamp for Dan's 59' Paragon guitars. He told me the best ink to use was Staz-On which comes in a ink pad. I used it on both calf and plastic with excellent results. I got mine off Amazon. Those W&A logos will really look sharp. Cool1

Thanks for the tip, Glenn! Staz-On it is! I'm going to do the bass drum logo in black and the snare and tom stamps in gold. It's going to look killer with the W&A company tags!

Nice find John. Have fun with the restoration. A friend gave me a WFL Bass drum that needs some TLC. It's almost as old as me, lol. Nice to see guys our age still doing this.

Yep, got them last week. (Thank you Creighton!) I have to remove the Remo logos from the heads before I add the new W&A stamps on them. Haven't had time to get to it yet. I will shortly...
