I have a Slingerland set from my youth (about 1970). It was originally advertised as an "oversized" and "stage" set (24" bass, 15" toms, 18" floor tom). I do not know how rare these are. Can't seem to find any info on it. Anyone know? Krut Special high hat, Bass drum SN 47410 (some thought this was important).
Vintage Slingerland Set - 24" base, 15" toms
Welcome to VDF!!
First off, please post pics so the Slingerland experts can see what you have and give you accurate info...

If you're correct on the sizes, It's not a cataloged kit, which really means nothing. You and the music stores could and did order any sizes that Slingerland offered and even some cutom made sizes.
24" bass drums typically had four spurs, are you missing two? Is one of those rack toms possibly a 14". What are the serial numbers of the toms?
Yes, maybe the other spurs are still retracted? ...
All the years I have used a 24", the only time spurs were all extended was for photo shoots. Harder to get a good balance with 4 spurs. Same with the 4 legged 18" FT's always wobble, they should have stayed with 3 legs IMO..

Many thanks to the drum guru. It really helped this neophyte get started on the site. I really love it. I wish I had joined you guys 47 years ago.
My base has 2 spikes and the floor tom has 4 legs - sn 48510 (never had a problem if positioned right). The toms are sn 50730 and 49301 (both 15in - a challenge to tune with a range but cheated). Snare is sn 50772. The links the Guru provided tells me it is about right for 1970 (maybe earlier). Did I mention I really love this?
Are both toms the same depth? One looks a little shallower in your pic, but, it could be just the angle it was taken...
Cheers

Slingerland offered both 10x15 and 12x15 rack toms. The pictured kit appears to have 10x14 and 10x15 rack toms. Not really sure about the bass drum being a 24", as it just looks more like a 22". It may just be the illusion and is a 24".

Assuming black/silver badges with new style script those serials are '71 (+/-). Likely no earlier than '71. Decently clustered. As vintagemore pointed out it is a non cataloged kit, not uncommon. +1 with idrum4fun, are you sure the bass drum is a 24"? Only two spurs would point to a 22".
The Base is 24" with two spurs (see pic - sorry for the quality). The two toms are identical, 15" x 10". I have the original receipt (just moved and recently filed it somewhere). Hope to find it soon. Thank you again for all the info. More than I could have hoped for.
