Vintage Slingerland Kit - Trade

Loading...

Hey drum guys, my first post here..

I have a small home studio, and a trade opportunity has come up for me to pick up a 1978 Slingerland kit.

Please see pics - any idea on value and also the condition and quality of the kit? I'm not a drummer so am a bit out of my depth. I wouldn't want to spend cash on restoring etc.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

No pictures showing, at the links specifically are letting you know that your account needs to be updated. I've been seeing this more and more with Photobucket. Please correct it so we can see the pictures.

There is a ton of crud that needs to be cleaned and missing hoops, heads, tension rods that need to be installed before a good estimate can be made. What are the dimensions of all of the drums?

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Is that serial number 405xx? If it is a 5 digit SN, then your kit is from about 1971. Judging by the Dynamo hi hat and Rocket snare stand, if original to the kit, you've got a cataloged "New Rock Outfit 50N". Given the overall condition, and missing parts, you MIGHT get around $400...maybe less. It can get pricey to source period-correct missing parts.

Drum sizes are: 14x20, 8x12, 9x13, 16x16 and a 5x14 COB Sound King snare drum. Shells are 3-ply maple/poplar/mahogany with solid maple reinforcement hoops.

Thanks for this Mark. So trading a 1969 Fender Bassman 50w head for this would not be an altogether fair trade then..

I'm not all that familiar with vintage Fender amps, although I know that many can go for allot of money! What do you feel your amp is worth?
