From what I see this is a Slingerland Copy Set made in Japan.

A few indications to me.

1. No badges

2. The inverted flange on the hoops is much greater then Slingerland

3. The WMP pattern

4. The wood grain looks like it runs up and down and this would not happen on Slingerland shells.

The Japanese copy sets can and do sometimes get passed as Slingerland. On that note the tom mount on the bass drum does looks like a possible Slingerland part.

Yes, the earlier Slingerland toms and floor toms did not have badges, but the bass drums and snare drums did.

So this to me is a classic 60's Japanese copy set.

Sorry if this is bad news, but that is my opinion and just want to shed light on the drums

I agree...this kit is definitely a vintage Asian copy of a Slingerland kit....for all the reasons listed above.

But the tom arm that I have to attach the tom to the bass drum does say slingerland on it.

I'll try and get a photo up of it as soon as I can find it!

My guess is that the original tom arm probably wore out and was replaced with a Slingerland.

In fact...Now that I look at it again, the original mount on the bass drum would have been a "railmount" and has been replaced with a different kind of mounting bracket -one that undoubtedly accepted a Slingerland tom arm. That's why there are the extra holes in the bass drum near the tom mounting bracket.

Pearl was the primary Japanese copier of the Slingerland style at that time, and made drums as an OEM under many brand names, including no name.
