Hi!
I bought this kit about 17 years ago, and for the last nine or ten years it was being gigged constantly with no maintenance (I was actually the vocalist, not the drummer), gaffa tape here and there to replace missing bolts etc, and now I've reclaimed it for my own and fancied fixing it up a bit (a lot!). I've started taking bits off to clean them and then noticed things that make me wonder about the drums. There are signs of previous fixings (bass drum spikes holders, tom mount), and the bass drum and the two toms all have different finishes underneath the white finish (silver sparkle on the bass drum, some sort of black vinyl on the rack tom, and nothing on the floor tom), with the white covering being crudely applied in some areas. When I got the kit, it had a rail consolette, but it looks like the kick has had a centre tom mount at some point. We added the cymbal L arm holder on to the kick drum, but when we went to drill the holes we found (I think!) that they were already there in the shell, we just had to go through the white wrap part. The serial number on the kick drum badge is 1777607. I'm just wondering what you make of the drums, and the fact that they have different finishes under the white wrap. I intend to keep the kit and just want to give it a bit of TLC and so on, but am not sure yet what lengths I want to go to as far as restoring original fixings (the idea appeals to me). I am quite fancying re-wrapping the kit. I've attached some photo's of the bass drum first and will add some more of the other bits and bobs. Many thanks for your input!
Richard.
