Vintage-Like drums

I realize my new drums are NOT Vintage but I wanted to share my happiness with the folks here - hope you don't mind.

I ordered a Getsch USA Custom shellpack to kind of match my 125th Anniversary snare I received from my wife for a 25th anniversary gift this past Dec.

My new drums were posted on the Gretsch Drum Forum this morning by Mr. Paul Cooper at the Gretsch factory in Ridgeland.

Sizes are:

1418bd/812rack/1414ft

Champagne Sparkle Nitron finish

They have some Vintage-like features:

BD has "vintage" T-Rods & Claws & Spurs.

I went with a naked BD because of the size and I already have a 20" BD with cymbal and rail mount - I like it but I wanted something different. I opted for the inlayed BD Hoops....they're no extra charge but you have to specify if you want them - if you don't you get the "Standard build-out" hoops. They're nice too but I prefer the matching finish inlay.

The Rack Tom is a standard Build-out

The Floor Tom has Diamond Leg Plates....I like them more than the new ones. I have Diamond Plates on my 58 kit and the modern ones on my 2007 kit.

They should be shipped out this week I think. They might take a while to get to the West Coast of Canada (Vancouver Island) but I'm liking the antisipation of it all.

I'm betting they sound as good as they look.

Good stuff.

I had a Pearl 18x14 bass drum, not vintage either, and it sounded great.
