Vintage Drum Hire?

Has anyone ever hired out their vintage drums for studio or live work? I just had a thought that maybe I could make a few dollars by hiring out my relatively rare vintage drums. I'd be pretty worried about something getting damaged so maybe just studio work would be better. I don't have any modern heavy duty hardware so I would probably just hire out the drums only. I was thinking I could deliver the drums and set them up as part of the service. What sort of demand do you think there would be for such a service? Any thoughts or experience to add? I guess instrument insurance would be a must.

I should add that I am in Melbourne Australia, a thriving music scene and not many vintage drums around for people looking for that sound.

cheers.

There's people that do this very thing. Some make a very good living, although that's far from being the only part of their business.

One of the more well-known examples:

Current gigging set:
Recent Ludwig Accent 13/16/18/26, (in Silver Sparkle), "updated" 70's Acrolite with cast batter hoop and Trick strainer/butt

Cymbals:
Zildjian K Custom Ride, Dream (Bliss and Contact) crashes and hats, and a Sabian Swish/China.

Other stuff:
60's Ludwig Champagne Sparkle "Traveler's Club Date", under construction. Click Here
70's Acrolite (under RE-construction)
Two 1960's mahogany 32" Ludwig bass drums with Imperial lugs.
