Thank all of you again for the responses. I love this forum.OK, yes, I would describe the sound I am getting as a wobble. However, in this case, the wobble is so bad the cymbal "flaps around" so much the stand begins to shake and the cymbal noticeably seems to want to fly off the stand.Thank you again for the responses.

It sounds like the cymbal is the wrong type for your playing style and style of music........I would try searching for something that better suits the sound you are looking for and your playing style.

If that's true this cymbal may be a piece of junk. In that case don't waste any money or time on it. A sound file and picture would be nice, otherwise we're just guessing based on your description.

It sounds like a thin and trashy cymbal – just what I like!

If it's that wobbley, it's probably very thin and could not be re-lathed. Try some tape and a rivet!

If it's a 20" vintage UFIP and it's in good shape...it can fetch a good $120+. It sounds like it's just a thin old vintage cymbal.

Seriously....just go cymbal shopping and use the proceeds from your sale to buy what you want. Don't spend the $ relathing a thin vintage cymbal...it won't get you anywhere you wanna be, and it'll mess up an old factory-original UFIP.

A vintage Italian cymbal with nice edge wobble and a lotta wash is a Jazz drummer's dream ride.....

It just isn't yours....so find it a good home and get something which works better for you.

Sounds like its a very lively cymbal, and that's a plus. If you like the sound that's all that really matters. I'll second Jaye's opinion.
