Vinatge 18" Pearl Special crash cymbal?

Loading...

This 18" Japanese 'Pearl Special' crash came with my Ludwig kit as a sort of bonus throwaway. Can anyone shed some light on its era, history and value?

It was a stock cymbal with the Pearl sets in the '60's...it's probably a B8 alloy.

Now...with that said, some of 'em, if they are on the thin side, are actually nice cymbals. More often than not they aren't, but I have had a few which were really quite decent.

...value ? Not much...maybe $50.

Thanks Jaye. This one is quite thin. Not much sustain on the high end but a reasonable dark gong-y sort of crash, and some quite interesting results for sticking/mallets. Nice to know when and where its come from anyway!

Hello!

There is very little info about these Old Pearl cymbals anywhere I look.

I have a 22" ride and a 15" HH from Deluxe Pearl. See pictures! Anyone has any information about them? year-quality-worth?

keep well and thank you!
