Hey everyone

I would like to buy a chimes set. I have no experience regarding chimes but I read a lot and it seems that Treeworks offer very good sets....

I did some searching their website and the stock in the local shops. Maybe one of these two sets:

- Tre35 Classic Chime

http://www.treeworkschimes.com/tre35_specs.html

- Tre35db Classic Chime

http://www.treeworkschimes.com/tre35db_specs.html

I'm from Belgium the music shops here (also Germany and The Netherlands) are closed for the rest of the year (Covid), so testing isn't an option. Only their online shops are 'open', and they have sound samples on their website.

I listened to the samples and I found these two sets to be the best 'all round' sound. What do you guys think: single or double row chimes?

Here is a good video of some thing to look for in a Mark Tree. These examples are all Aluminum, but I tend to prefer the richer sonority of solid Brass tubes which are very hard to find now.

I have the double row Tree Works chimes and also the model with the repeating pitches (forgot the name) and I think you would be very satisfied with any of their products and especially the double row models. I modified their hanger by bending one angle so it works better on a cymbal stand tube. Maybe they have changed their design since I bought them many years ago. I can also recommend their cases, very well made and sturdy. Good luck!
