To add felt to lug springs or not.

Loading...

Recent swarm of MIJ's are getting felt. They didn't have it. It only takes a minute or so, I do.

Figure if the spring breaks tension rod is held in place but spring will rattle about.

Best I can tell from my real drums is Slingerland quit spring felt at the lug changeover. Anyone know for sure?

Thanks!

Creighton

Nothing special here but I like them.

70's have it... I just did a 60's snare received without it.. Cut some strips from one of those thick 3mm polishing cloths.. I believe that a metal shell snare (in particular) needs it..

Cheers

None of my streamline lugged Slingerlands had them. I add strips of closed-cell foam packing sheet.

Won't pick up moisture like felt or cotton.
