You should probably replace the lug insert-sounds like it's worn out.
Thunder-King Pearl Kit
That's what I thought but the lug insert works fine when I use the other 'design' of tension rod (since there are two different ones).
I'd take a photo but if I take them out, I'd have to rewrap the tension rod in plumbing tape and I think I'm out of stock.
I closely inspected both before I wrapped the tape and they are in good condition. I can't see any broken/bent threads.
Do you know where I can purchase new tension rods that would fit the kit?
Thanks again guys!
I now own this exact kit! I have just stripped and cleaned the kick drum parts and sanded back some of the black interior paint. I've been using it for recording but haven't had a chance to gig it yet! Sold the snare as I already had one the same.
I have put a new ambassador Reso and emad batter on and it sounds phat!
FT,
That wrap is beautiful - congrats on your new kit.

Way Too Many Snares, She Says
OK, did one of you get these off of St. Louis craigslist? If not, there was their "triplett" of craigslist a month or so back.
I have to many kits that I don't play, otherwise I would have bitten.
I got some information about them on the pearl drummers website back when I saw them. Here's the link:

Cool drums, guys!
Steve
No, this kit is in Melbourne, Australia.
I should have saved a photo from the craigslist ad. It's been sold and no pictures remain....
