From JimmySticks

Wow, that is one fine looking collection of MIJ kits my friend! You are definitely keeping a cool part of history alive. Cool1

Sorry for this long delayed response Jimmy

And Thank You kindly pal...I love finding and fixing them up

I found these "Black Jack" badged Yamamoto built center luggers

they were really in a poor state filthy and hardware corroded to death

the bass drum shell was blown out at the spurs and heavily water damaged. Surprisingly the black oyster copy wrap was in nice shape still, and luckily, I had some identical stripped down drum shells and hardware at my shop. So I carefully removed the wrap from the bass drum (really only do-able with MIJ kits)

and laid it back over the better shell, a few of the holes were a few millimeters offset so I followed the wrap rather the shell once reassembled they looked pretty nice. no snare yet though.

Got this a few days ago. I had never seen hoop clips on a MIJ drum. And the wrap is in good shape.

This "Emperador" by Hoshino Kougyou partial

22" bass drum 12"and 13" toms

Is just uncommon enough where the kit may never be complete

but I liked both the wrap and the badges too much as a collector

to let them go by.

I could live without the matching snare drum

(not that I would not like to have it)

but given the choice of finding one or the other ?

I would sure much prefer finding the floor tom.

I have better pics but they are too large to load for some reason

That's a very neat wrap on those Kenwood. Don't recall seeing that badge before either.

Hello and Thanks Mike, same here,

I had never laid eyes on this crazy wrap or the badges before or since buying this partial ..I would guess Hoshino Kougyou used the greatest amount of unique wrap patterns on some of their builds

and often in seemingly limited runs , I would be much happier about that if I had a complete kit here,

From the very first day I found these drums, I have had very little hope of ever completing them.

Hello Dan,

Glad to see you again pal, The collection has indeed grown since our last exchange

Though I am not sure I have any new warehouse pics of the whole lot

here though, are a few from a different angle

While I still like finding cool MIJ stuff The prices have spiked to a point where I have started in on player grade American made kits and retired marching bass drums with the band logos still displayed on the heads .
